As a contrast to the classic exhibition situation – well-lit rooms, illuminated objects, and installations accentuated by light –, the present exhibition invites spectators to a journey of images and inward glances. The darkened interiors of the abandoned cinema are supposed to stimulate a multitude of sensual impressions in visitors – seeing, smelling, feeling, tasting, an hearing in unusual conditions.
Attendees are invited to „grope in the dark“, to „fish in muddy waters“, to explore „dark secrets“, to discover figures of light or flowers hidden in the shade... at night, all cats are grey.
Sound collages, light installations, films, music and exhibitions will be on display.
Visitors are encouraged to discover new things, to become active themselves (for instance, by taking an illuminated shower, or becoming part of the exhibition with their own shadows).
The exhibition is complemented by a night hike on labyrinthine paths, with brief art happenings and surprises – and a live collage of sound, light and shadow by the group HSL, during which the musicians will perform as shadows behind a screen.
